Healthcare Centre of Excellence within the Facilities Management Sector

In June, a brand new special interest group will be launched focusing on the challenges facing, and solutions available to the Healthcare Sector.

The inaugural Healthcare Centre of Excellence event will be held on Wednesday 9th June at Innovation House in Wokingham, focusing upon the following key areas:

Effective Space Management
Successful Asset Management
Compliance with EstateCode, ERIC Returns and CIAMS
Sustainable Energy Conservation
Optimised Helpdesk Management
GIS Integration with ESRI

The group will be Chaired by Facilities Management specialist Brian Court of Community Solutions Primary Care. Through his role as Operations Manager of contracted FM services for 21 LIFT schemes throughout the UK, he possesses a wealth of knowledge relating to energy management, environmental planning, building management systems, space management, drawing management and maintenance planning.

Brian believes that "the NHS has too much real estate which in some cases is excess to requirements. Without the correct tools in place it is difficult to gauge exactly how much is actually required to meet current demands."

He continues, "by creating the Centre of Excellence there will always be a partnering service to help managers meet their expectation by using the latest tools and technologies where necessary. The NHS will support the application of technology and innovation to meet these demands."
