From October 2008, Display Energy Certificates, including an Advisory Report are required for all buildings meeting the following criteria:
In accordance with the Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections England and Wales) Regulations 2007, all buildings meeting the above criteria must have a Display Energy Certificate.
After our Accredited Energy Assessor has inspected the buildings, an Advisory Report will be issued. These contain recommendations for improvement to the energy performance of the building by payback periods of 3 years (short term), 3-7 years (medium term) and 7 or more years (long term).
Once this process is complete, the documentation will also be passed onto the Government Agency for annual retrieval.
The Display Energy Certificate is valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
The Advisory Report accompanies the DEC and is valid for 7 years from the date of issue.
The Display Energy Certificate must be renewed each year and will require the energy data to be updated for the re-issuing of Certificates.
