Download: Mastering the Arts of Facilities Management Case Study
"This allows us to not only understand how efficiently space is being used; it also supports our space modelling. The modelling helps us allocate space appropriately for administrative, academic and accommodation needs to ensure an effective organisation and a cost-effective operation."
- Estates Systems Co-ordinator, University for the Creative Arts
The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester, provides inspiring courses in art, design, architecture, media and communication. Formed through the union of The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College and the Kent Institute of Art & Design, it has a distinguished heritage spanning over 150 years.
With the recent integration of the various schools under the UCA umbrella came the challenge of replacing disparate facilities management systems at the five campuses across England with a single, centralised platform.
That platform would ideally co-ordinate all aspects of facilities management for the 30 buildings comprising over 61,000 square meters of classroom and other space.
With ARCHIBUS Space Management in use since 1995 at two of the UCA's original campuses, extending its use to all five sites was deemed an expedient way to fine-tune campus-wide operations with a proven software solution.
