Environmental Management Audit

Mass Services Environmental Management Audit fulfils the requirement of the Audit Commission to have in-house procedures externally audited.

The Survey Comprises:

A high level review of policies to confirm that correct
protocols exist
Interviews of key staff to confirm that policies are fully
implemented
A detailed review of energy efficiency building by building
Production of overall condition ratings for each facet

The Survey Covers:

Energy Efficiency

The Energy Efficiency review utilises a ‘Hevacomp’ software
package which calculates the heat loss per unit volume based
on GJ per 100 cubic meters.

The results are compared with national banding statistics to
determine the efficiency ranking.

Waste Management

Reviews evidence of policies, signage, categorised and segregated storage, staff awareness, safety, transportation, licenses, hazard incidents, employee training, partnering etc.

Transport Management

Reviews evidence of policies, accountability, documented procedures, contract documentation, Local Authority agreements, staff awareness, Environmental Policy, commitment to greener fuels/vehicles, reduction of environmental pollution etc.

Water Usage

Reviews evidence of policies, board responsibility, reduction targets, meters/readings, staff awareness, procedures etc.

The Report

A full report is provided which reviews policies and procedures,
makes recommendations, details energy efficiency, categorises
rankings for each facet, compares each with national benchmarks.
